Catherine Weetman is the director of re-think solution and the author of circular economy handbook for business and supply chain, who pays a lot of attention on sustainability issues and mentioned that supply chain had much related to this issues.
Since fast fashion industry is associated with many ethical issues, if the solution is to stop people buying these products, many workers related to this industry will put out of work, so there should be other ways to accumulating fast fashion, so that there will not be detrimental health impact on people in supply chain, for example the toxic chemical use.
Catherine also mentioned that labor right is another issues that should be focused, all the worker should be treated equally. At the end of the interview, she appealed that all the fast fashion company should be transparent and clean up their act, including finding better material and better ways engage with farmers and workers.
