Getting to know "The Unbroken White" with WSA Textile Design students.

The textile design students who from Winchester School of Arts created their artwork about “sustainability”. Part of their materiel were recyclable, they combined with their creativity to design the new “The Unbroken White” artworks.





Miranda Meng

We went to interviewed two students from textile design. First student is Miranda Meng.

Miranda mentioned that textile design students also need to combine two theme to present their artworks. For her artworks, she combined buildings and landscape to demonstrate the concept. Such as rocks and historical museum. Some of buildings which was inspired by existing, and some of them were from books.Use hashtags to describe what your post is about.



Ruo Yu Liao

Another student is Ruo Yu Liao, she offered great opinion to introduce the collection and her artwork.

She mentioned the postgraduate textile design students made the bigger artwork initially. They used white colour mixed with some material which are blue colour to present a breakthrough in the white colour, and also think outside the box.

Ruo Yu collected many recycled fabrics to produce her artwork to present the concept of sustainability, and she designed it inspired by the rainy season from her hometown, China. There will appear many moss after raining, so she used some green material to present it. At the end, she offered an opinion about sustainability of fashion industry.



“Nowadays, many fashion companies have cause environment pollution, hence we need to concern this issue continuously” said Ruo Yu.
